About this Event
This international workshop brings together experts from the UK and Israel to explore the growing challenge of summer energy poverty and the pursuit of cooling justice.
Through four thematic sessions, the event will examine:
- The lived realities and policy dimensions of summer energy poverty, including how inefficient heat networks and fragile energy systems are impacting vulnerable residents.
- The relationship between climate, housing, and the built environment, exploring how design, retrofit, and heritage preservation can balance energy efficiency with thermal comfort.
- The importance of equity and intersectionality in achieving cooling justice, with insights into renewable energy transitions, green building policies, and inclusive approaches to comfort.
- Opportunities for policy innovation and international collaboration in tackling overheating, affordability, and resilience in a warming world.
Join us for a day of knowledge exchange, debate, and partnership building aimed at advancing fair, sustainable, and climate-resilient pathways to cooling for all.
