About this Event
The free half day forum is organised by the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Equity and Prevention Service and Aboriginal Health Unit. The forum will highlight strategies, frameworks and research on effective interventions that can be implemented within the healthcare sector to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally diverse people in our communities. Ways to enhance cultural safety for healthcare consumers and staff will also be explored. Local health initiatives that demostrate positive change will also be featured, including the SESLHD Addressing Racism Strategy.
Key note speakers include: Professor Kevin Dunn (Western Sydney University) and Associate Professor Michelle Dickson (The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, University of Sydney). A special presentation will be facilitated by Our Race on Transformational Ethical Story Telling.
People working in NSW Health, other health and human services organisations, and education/research are welcome to attend.
