3D printing basics, including AutoDesk Fusion 360, 3D printing slicers, and 3D printing!
About this Event

Additive manufacturing (3 D printing) is in a period of growth in the US and can be found in many occupations. In the culinary arts, people have used 3D printing to create sculptures in chocolate. The construction industry is currently using 3D printers to manufacture houses of concrete. While SpaceX is currently experimenting with 3D printed rockets, others have even gone as far to building a full-sized and functioning McLaren!

Every one of these designers started from humble times. Now its your turn to learn how to use the same programs they use to start creating on your own!

Over the two-day class, we will go over the basics of designing in AutoDesk Fusion 360, using a 3D Slicer, and uploading designs to the printers!

Day 1: Lets dive deep into the features of AutoDesk Fusion 360, a Computer-Aided Drafting program and powerful tool! Understanding the fundamentals of drawing in 2D and transitioning the item to 3D is the main focus. After today you will be able to replicate an item into the 3D world and create your own custom object from scratch!

Day 2: Now that we have the basics of 3D modeling down, we will delve into the slicer portion of 3D printing, learn more about the printers and their capabilities, and begin printing your own designs!

Throughout the classes we will go over how to collaborate with the DoD additive manufacturing community and pull open-source designs from others.

Enroll today to learn how additive manufacturing can help to prototype and build products in a fraction of the time of standard supply chain processes. Let us teach you how to take your idea from concept to reality!
