About this Event
The two day training training will offer insight from psychotherpeutic modlaities and the lived experiences of the two facilitators.
This training is for anyone who would like to explore the humanistic approach to addiction and will benefit anyone working in a professional capacity with links to addiction. There is a figural focus on personal wellbeing throughout the training, especially in how this links to the relational dynamic and vicarious trauma.
We explore addiction as an adaptive activity linked to attachment and seen as a repsonse to threats experienced both in the here and now and historically. We focus on the importance of how we create spaces for sense and meaning making of this, especially in relation to both the historic and present trauma experienced. The training has space for personal process and insight, to ensure we create a rich enviroment for challenge, support and affirmation.
The facilitators have many years experience of working in government commissioned addiction and health sector services, NHS trusts, psychotherpy institutes, as well as their own lived and living experieces of addiction. They have presented across Europe on addiction, attachment and trauma and work nationally with organisations to deliver trauma aware training and supervision ceertification within the sector.
