Course Description
Transform your cold-season yard into a winter wonderland with elegant forms, textures, and colors. Learn basic elements of winter landscaping with an emphasis on trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs for Northern Colorado’s climate. Explore stunning plant combinations, examine selection and planting considerations, and learn how to protect your plants in cold weather. You’ll come away with ideas for adding a fourth season of interest to your garden.

Deb Courtner is a garden speaker and writer, CSU Extension master gardener, and retired landscape designer. She has presented programs for Denver Botanic Gardens, Fairmount Heritage Foundation, and libraries in the Denver, Arapahoe, and Loveland library districts. In addition, she has written garden stories for The Denver Post, NOCO Bloom, Fort Collins Nursery newsletter, CSU’s Live Smart Colorado, and other publications.
