About this Event

This event will take place at Adcock park velodrome in West Gosford on the central coast NSW. The focus of the event will be to set personal best times in the 1000m standing start, 200m flying and 4000m standing start. The length of the track has been professionally surveyed and all times will be recorded using professional automated bicycle transponders (MyLaps equivalent) so any times set will be considered true to professional standards. If a world record in your age, gender etc category is set this will also count.

The event starts at 9am on saturday May 4th and the order will be as follows. The track hire is for the entire day so each participant will get sufficient warm up time before each event. once everyone has completed their attempt the timing will be moved and set up for the next event.

- 1000m standing start

- 200m flying start

- 4000m standing start.

The Velodrome is suitable for unfaired record attempts.

Rules

Our competition rules are very simple in spirit:

- riders must wear a helmet

- your bike/vehicle must have working brakes

- must be solely human powered (no stored energy)

- must be inherently safe, no internal or external sharp/pointy/bitey bits. We reserve the right to enforce front chainring guards on recumbents if track density limits are reached ( eg, 20 or more recumbents)

Our full rules for record attempts can be found here: https://www.ozhpv.org.au/files/OzHPV_Competition_Rules_Mar2020.pdf

WRRA rules are very similar, and can be found here:

https://www.recumbents.com/wrra/rules.htm

World Recumbent Racing Association (recumbents.com)

OzHPV submits world records in the unfaired category to WRRA. If you intend to submit for a National Human Powered Vehicle record(OzHPV) or World Recumbent Racign Association record (WRRA), and are unfamiliar with record attempt rules and processes, please reach out to a committee member for guidance. While the rules are simple in spirit, submissions require specific detail and can be time consuming.

OzHPV is not affiliated with AusCycling or any of its subsiduraries.

Junior entry:

Juniors are welcomed and encouraged! However, we currently only offer an U18 category. Your parent or guardian will need to sign your entry form at or prior to the event.
