We pleased to say have spaces available to try some of our adaptive paddleboards in our pool taster sessions. It’s a great chance to try a range of paddle board adaptations in a nice warm environment. The sessions are aimed at people with limited lower limb mobility who may require a more comfortable seated position or kneeling position. We only have a few spaces so please get in touch to ask questions and any concerns you may have so we can support you on the session. These places a £10pp for 1 hour in the pool to try a range of equipment. You will need to be able to swim and if you require a pool chair lift to get into the water, please let us know. You will need to be able to self-transfer with assistance from our staff.
We will have a range of paddle board seating and kneeling systems available to try and some other adaptations to offer posture support and comfort. There is also some other pieces of equipment that could help with upper limb impairments. Please get in touch to see if we can support you.

Where do we meet?
We will meet at Catterick swimming pool seating/café area at least 15 mins before time booked just past reception where we do any paperwork needed before going into the pool. You must let the reception staff know you are signed up to the SUP session and they will let you in. Time is quite short in the pool so please aim to be pool side at the session start time.
What’s next? We aim to start sessions again at Ellerton lake from April onwards so this is a great way to try equipment first in a warm learning environment.
The sessions at the lake will hopefully be regular weekly depending on weather and staff so you can start to use the sessions to build confidence, fitness and meet like-minded individuals enjoying the lovely blues spaces.
The pace of the sessions is set by you so depending on your ability we can go as slow or fast as you want and challenge yourself with your own personal goals. You never know where this will lead maybe a canal or river trip a seated paddle board race or just a nice afternoon paddling around at the lake.
