Acupuncture & Yin Yoga - Wood Season
The Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic philosophy based on the observation of the natural cycles and interrelationships in both our environment and within ourselves. By focusing on each element in its corresponding season, we realign our body, mind, and spirit to be in harmony with nature.
During this themed yin yoga practice, you will be introduced to the Traditional Chinese Philosophy of the Wood element. You will be guided through Yin yoga postures corresponding with the Liver & Gallbladder Meridians. Yin yoga employs long holds of ground-based practice to unlock tension and trauma from the deeper tissues in the body. Just as the season is associated with birth and new beginnings, in this class we will focus on harnessing the powerful energy that Spring delivers. Acupuncture will be offered during an extended period of savasana (reclined relaxation) to harmonize our internal energies with the Wood season.
