About this Event

showcases people worldwide who are taking action on the climate crisis and calls for meaningful youth inclusion in global climate negotiations.

In the film, prominent climate experts and youth climate leaders discuss key themes such as tipping points, extreme weather, food systems and nature and biodiversity to highlight the urgent need to tackle the crisis. We hear from the young people about their personal experiences of climate change impacts, and about the inspiring action they are taking. They demonstrate that young people are effective agents of change at the forefront of climate action, and the film is a testament to the value that young climate leaders can bring to the negotiating table.

Join us for a screening of the film, and to hear inspiring insights from three University of Bath students who are taking action.

We will be joined by:

  • Thea Wright, a fourth year Politics and International Relations student who has recently completed her placement in the University’s Institute for Policy Research (IPR). During this time, she worked on the ActNowFilm project. She will discuss her experience working with youth climate leaders and her involvement in climate change conversations as a student.
  • Miles Pemberton, a second year PhD student who attended the prestigious One Young World Summit this year in Montreal. He will share his insights on the global community that unites young leaders in driving positive change.
  • Angelica Reyes Caceres, a third year Politics and International Relations student and SU Politics and Activism Exec, who will discuss the many ways that students can take action while here at Bath. As an activist herself, she has experience as a student but will also share with you insights from her time working in the University’s Sustainability and Climate Action Team last year.

This event is jointly hosted by the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and the University of Bath Climate Action Team as part of Green Week 2024.
