Our Active Living outdoor Climbing trips are ideal for anyone who wants to get out, enjoy the beauty of the Peak District and experience the thrill of real outdoor climbing. All trips will meet at DRSV entrance at 9am and return approx. 5pm.

The trips are suitable for complete beginners - we will provide harnesses and helmets. See suggested kit list below.

Suggested kit list:

Small shoulder bag or rucksack (you may be able to share with a friend)
Hat & Gloves (just because it is sunny in Nottingham does not mean the weather will be the same in the Peak District)
Waterproof outer jacket (and trousers if you have them)
Spare warm top/fleece – temperatures may be significantly colder at the crag – you will be stationary for some of the time
Small packed lunch and a drink (at least 1/2 ltr hot or cold) – we can stop at a shop en-route if required.
Sturdy comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy
Camera/Mobile

Hazards - you MUST read this section:

Rocky and muddy paths – wear sturdy footwear to avoid slips and twisted ankles etc
Insect bites – keep legs and arms covered while walking
Falling while climbing – we will be using ropes, harnesses and helmets. Activity is supervised by a qualified instructor
Falling rocks – this is unlikely as the crags are used by lots of group's helmets will be provided for all attendees
Weather – It might rain, bring a waterproof jacket. If weather is really bad the decision to cancel will be made and if there is sufficient time an indoor climbing wall will be used as an alternative.
