My name is Lee Eckroth. Along with my partner Tony Pappas, we have a vision that some of our downtown alleys will one day be closed to traffic, free of trash cans, clean, safe, and walkable - we call them “Active Alleys.” We received a community enhancement grant to demonstrate this concept, and we’d love to have you involved.
Sponsored by Visit Corvallis and The Chamber of Commerce this event coincides with Winter’s Eve.
Citizen’s Bank has kindly allowed us to relocate all trash cans to their parking lot during this event.
Alley plants, trees, and decorations provided courtesy of Garland Nursery.
Per the city permit, the alley will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4pm Friday, December 1, through 4pm Saturday, December 2.Prior to the POC the surface will be powerwasher by water only. At the end of the day on the 2nd, we’ll restore the alley to its original condition.
We’d love to have you involved. This is a great chance to learn how an Active Alley might work
