Action on Stage: Exploring Body Movements in the textual and visual sources of Ancient Greek Comedy - a Public Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Alexa Piqueux ( Université Paris Nanterre ), author of the acclaimed book, The Comic Body in Ancient Greek Theatre and Art, 440-320 BCE (OUP, 2022) .
Come join us for an exciting event delving into the world of Ancient Greek Comedy! We will be examining body movements in both textual and visual sources. Alexa Piqueux has pioneered the study of how the body was staged, represented, and perceived in ancient Greek Comedy, providing a unique insight into the performances of in the ancient Greek world.
This illustrated talk will take place at Lecture Theatre G04, Napier Building The University of Adelaide (North Terrace Campus) . It will last approx. one hour, with time for questions afterwards. Don't miss out on this fascinating talk by a leading specialist.
