Join the WPAC and Jon Townson for an exciting workshop on English dialects. During this workshop, you will learn and practice a variety of dialects including:
British Received Pronunciation (RP): London
(Soft) Irish: Dublin
Scottish: Edinburgh
Southern US: Alabama
Northeastern US: Boston
You will use various texts as references to cover anatomy, tongue/jaw placement, listening for accents, and how to use IPA for help with accents. Jon will lead you through basic warm-ups, diction exercises, and some 'ice-breaker' theater exercises to get you comfortable, relaxed and ready to explore these sounds.

About Jon Townson
Jon has recently arrived in Wiesbaden, from Washington, DC. He is an Actor, Teacher, Director, and Technical Director, holding a BA from Auburn University and an MFA from the University of Florida, both in Acting. He has taught multiple classes and workshops ranging from one, to 100 students, tailoring material for all ages. These have included coaching for accents/dialect/diction, voice and speech, acting, & directing; he has also performed onstage in many productions, and has film and tv credits as well. He also held Actor/Combatant status with the Society of American Fight Directors, and has choreographed multiple stage combat fights.
