Unlock deeper emotional truth and spontaneity in your performances with Acting from Impulse, a dynamic weekend workshop designed for experienced actors ready to refine their craft. This intensive training merges powerful techniques from Method Acting, the Meisner Technique, Robert Cohen’s GOTE (Goal, Obstacle, Tactics, Expectation), Mike Leigh, Uta Hagen, and Ivana Chubbuck, offering a transformative exploration of presence, impulse, and truthful connection.
At the heart of this workshop is the Meisner Repetition Exercise, a powerful tool that helps actors shift their focus away from self-consciousness and fully connect with their scene partners. By refining your ability to respond “moment to moment,” you will cultivate genuine spontaneity, heightened awareness, and deeper emotional access, leading to compelling and truthful performances.

What You’ll Experience:
🎭 Scene Work & Character Development – Perform and analyze scenes using various acting techniques.
🎭 Emotional Preparation & Relationship Building – Apply exercises like constellations, substitution, and emotional triggers inspired by Uta Hagen and Ivana Chubbuck.
🎭 Chemistry Building – Discover techniques to create deep, believable on-screen connections.
🎭 Impulse Acting & Repetition Exercises – Train in Meisner-inspired repetition drills to sharpen instincts and stay present in the moment.
🎭 Mike Leigh’s Character Crafting – Build rich, multi-dimensional characters through improvisation and organic storytelling.
🎭 Navigating Vulnerable & Intimate Scenes – Learn essential tools to safely approach emotionally charged performances with confidence.
🎭 Conscious Acting & Emotional Well-being – Gain insights into trauma-informed techniques and how to protect your emotional health on set.
This workshop is conducted in Arabic, with English acting terminology integrated.

Meet Your Instructor – Sondos Shabayek
Sondos Shabayek is an Egyptian filmmaker, acting coach, and intimacy coordinator based in Berlin. With over 16 years of experience, she has worked extensively with actors and non-actors, directing theatre performances, facilitating storytelling workshops, and coaching performers on screen and stage.
She holds an MA in Directing from MetFilm School, Berlin, and was the recipient of the 2021 Voices That Matter Scholarship – Women in Screen Industries. In 2022, she was selected for the Safe Sets Intimacy Coordinator Training, funded by Netflix, and served as intimacy coordinator for the award-winning German TV series “Die Zweiflers” (Best Series, Cannes 2024, now airing on ARD).
Currently, she works as an acting coach and intimacy coordinator for international Film & TV productions, while developing her debut feature film. She is also training as a mental health coordinator for film and TV, ensuring safe and supportive environments for actors.
Sondos specializes in trauma-informed approaches, somatic practices, and fostering authentic, emotionally truthful performances, with a strong focus on the representation of female voices and survivor narratives on screen.
