About this Event
An introduction to acting techniques for ages 8 to 15. We'll warm up our voices and use improv games to delve into movement work and ensemble-building. We'll begin introducing theatre and acting vocabulary, look at different styles of acting, and annotate scripts to learn how to approach analyzing characters. We will help students find and celebrate their strengths, as well as what sort of characters suit them well. Scene work will include encouraging kids to think through the staging process so they learn how to make bold artistic choices. We will plan a showcase at the end of the class session to celebrate what students have worked on. 12 students max.
Class runs for 8 weeks on Wednesdays from 2-3pm at Faith Chapel Gathering Place for All an affirming, community-led art center in pastoral Lucketts, VA. By purchasing this class you acknowledge that you are signing your child up for all 8 classes in the series and the final showcase.
