Child & Family Resources will be hosting a Virtual ACT Raising Safe Kids program
ACT Raising Safe Kids is a parenting program is Calling All Dads to participate. The research-based curriculum is organized according to three central themes: Knowledge and beliefs about child development, Relationships, and Parenting skills. Therefore, the ACT Program curriculum addresses the following topics: Understanding Behavior Change and Motivation, Understanding Children’s Behaviors (Child Development), Young Children’s Exposure to Violence, Understanding and Controlling Parents’ Anger, Understanding and Helping Angry Children, Children and Electronic Media, Discipline and Parenting Styles, Discipline for Positive Behaviors and Parents as Teachers, Protectors and Advocates at Home and in the Communities The program is delivered in nine sessions of two hours each, on average, to groups of parents and caregivers by trained professionals known as the ACT facilitators.
We will be holding virtual sessions on the following dates from 6:00 – 8:00 PM:
August 4th Pre-Program Meeting
August 5th Understanding Your Children’s Behaviors
August 8th Young Children’s Exposure to Violence
August 11th Understanding & Controlling Parents’ Anger
August 13th Understanding & Helping Angry Children
August 15th Children & Electronic Media
August 18th Discipline & Parenting Styles
August 19th Discipline For Positive Behaviors
