Instructor: Shelby Dawn SmithIn this workshop, we will be creating an acrylic painting inspired by the work of artist Christi Belcourt. Belcourt is a Michif visual artist born in Scarborough, Ontario with family roots in Manito Sahkahigan (Lac Ste. Anne, Alberta). Her artwork was featured in the recent group exhibition Solastalgia at the Douglas Family Art Centre. Christi paints animals and plants native to Ontario, including endangered wildlife. In this session we will draw inspiration from Belcourt’s works to create their own unique imagery featuring local wildlife in Belcourt’s signature style.
