CLASS DESCRIPTION
AcroYoga is a movement practice that combines the balance & connection of yoga with the fitness & energy of acrobatics: it’s the culmination of trust; communication; strength; power and patience.
It’s freeing. Liberating. Exciting. Even scary at times but...that’s why it’s fun.
This practice is inclusive and designed to reach all people—no matter your age, size, skill, or fitness level.
The level of this class is: ’student led’ aka all levels; designed for focussing on foundations, working at your level always with variations/adaptions. This class serves as a great introduction to Acroyoga as well as a supportive (geeky) training space for intermediates to elevate their understanding and unlock next level skills.
We focus heavily on retaining the safety within the fun by making communication our main priority. We aim to fail lots and fail safely learning some cool and challenging shapes and transitions on the way.
Students will be taken through a fun animalistic warm up, partner exercises, introductions to static poses, core stability, inversions, and combining poses into sequences of both L-basing and Standing acro.
No partner necessary.
£30 for 3 hours

FURTHER INFORMATION
All abilities welcome. If there is anything you think we should know to better improve your time with us (disabilities, injuries, conditions, preferences, pronouns), let us know. You are in control of your own actions but as facilitators, we want you to have the best time possible and we are happy to accommodate you where possible.
We practice consent culture. Please be mindful of the personal space of others. ‘No’ is always a valid answer but the first step is asking for what you need. If you have any questions before you attend, please ask.
We value clear concise communication - “Ask for what you need” is important to us.
Active clothing you’re comfortable going upside down in, most people find stretchy material and clothes that are not too baggy to work well for acroyoga.
Please make sure to remove any jewellery prior to the classes starting.
Recommended to bring:
a water bottle
a sweat towel (optional)
warm layers
Teachers BIO
Together, as @dukesandsavage, Shell & Will have a combined 20 years experience coaching and performing in a multitude of disciplines. They not only perform at events nationwide, they teach at multiple studios around the beautiful city of Bristol.
Shell is from a self taught circus performance art background and has recently attended Teaching Training with the globally renowned @partneracrobatics team in Spain. The language she better understands is a creative, visual and tactile one she would say she’s ‘ever learning’ but already has an extensive knowledge and a very practiced and capable skill level. Shell seeks joy and embodies movement as a platform to promote mental and physical wellbeing.
Will, Accredited with the @acroyoga International team, has been working with people from all walks of life and as such has developed a wide and varied ability to communicate. Being neurodiverse himself means he understands the importance of easy to follow instructions. It’s the students and clients that dictate what a useful cue is and he puts that into practice. Will has been trained and taught hundreds of different activities from archery, to abseiling, to adventure courses and really embraces the joy of helping others elevate their practice.
They started training as a duo in 2017 calibrating and cultivating their practice together. Having survived through the pandemic they now embody the mantra “It’s not what you do it’s how you do it“ as they teach and perform acro.
Please get in touch with any questions.
We look forward to seeing you there!
