About this Event
Autumn’s in full swing, and The Stage Door pub is turning up the warmth with another night of raw, resonant, and refreshingly real live music. On Thursday, November 6, join us for an evening where storytelling meets songcraft, and local legends share the spotlight with rising voices from Kent’s vibrant creative scene.
First up, Dan Solo brings his heartfelt folk-rock stylings to the stage. From his karaoke beginnings and X-Factor cameo to his Radio Kent-featured originals, Dan’s musical journey has been anything but ordinary. Expect soulful lyrics, guitar-driven grooves, and the energy of a performer who’s honed his craft one open mic at a time.
Next, prepare to be charmed (and thoroughly entertained) by Nathan Persad, the half-Trinidadian troubadour from Deptford whose sharp wit and short, snappy songs chronicle a truly unique journey. With 11 albums and a knack for reimagining forgotten classics, Nathan delivers music that’s as clever as it is catchy.
Then comes The Lilac Bard, weaving indie psych soundscapes that blend hypnotic basslines with atmospheric textures. Expect to be transported—this is music for the mind as much as the ears, bending genres and moods with effortless cool.
And finally, Jen Elvy brings the power of poetry to the mix. A self-published local writer and performer, Jen’s moving and often deeply personal verses explore everything from parenthood and fantasy to grief and healing. Her words have touched hearts across Kent, offering comfort and connection in equal measure.
As always, doors open at 7:30pm, admission is free, and the only ticket you’ll need is your curiosity. Come early, grab a pint, and settle in for a night that promises laughter, lyricism, and that unmistakable Stage Door magic.
Dan Solo
Dan Solo is a singer-songwriter from Gravesend who’s played more open mics around North Kent than he’s had hot dinners. After a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment on The X Factor in 2015, he’s been winning over crowds one pint glass at a time with catchy tunes, heartfelt lyrics, and the occasional self-deprecating joke between songs. Whether it’s a pub corner or a packed night, Dan’s all about real music, good vibes, and proving that persistence (and a slightly overworked capo) really does pay off.
Nathan Persad
Half-Trinidadian Deptford resident Nathan Persad has made 13 self written, recorded and produced albums, an impressive feat for anyone regardless of his also being Autistic. He doesn't do many of those songs in his live shows though so come to the gig, enjoy the obscure cover songs no-one else on the scene does and buy one of his albums!
