Attention, discerning music lovers of Dartford and all surrounding postcodes! Mark your calendars and prepare your soul for an evening of beautifully moody acoustic enchantment at The Stage Door this Thursday. Even better — this night isn't just for your ears, it's for a cause!
Our May acoustic-ish line up features Gary Ptaszek, the brooding maestro behind Tailblock with a stripped back performance, Megan-Lily a 17 year old immensely talented artist who will enchant you with her celestial, ethereal singer-songwriter style, and Liverpool-born Elvis Oddball whose folk-tinged sounds are inspired by both the British Isles and Americana, weaving tales both factual and fantastical with charm and authenticity.Between sets, Anthony Hart, Gravesend's own master wordsmith, will share his distinctively dark and comedically layered poetry.
This special evening doubles as a fundraiser for Square Peg Arts (https://squarepegsarts.com/), a local charity creating opportunities for learning disabled, autistic and neurodivergent people to be involved with the arts. We'll be selling tapes featuring live recordings from previous Stage Door performances, with all profits going to a very worth cause.
Doors swing open at 7:30pm, and in a gesture of cosmic benevolence, admission remains entirely FREE! Bring your friends who appreciate musical craftsmanship, that person you've been meaning to impress with your excellent taste, or just come alone and make new friends who understand that sometimes the best therapy comes with guitar strings attached.

Gary Ptaszek
Gary Ptaszek is known for his ability to turn even the happiest room somber with just a few chords, for years making audiences ponder their own existences with Tailblock, Burgunday, and Till I’m Bones. For his upcoming acoustic set, Gary will strip away the guitar noise but keeps the gloom. Expect beautifully crafted songs that will have you texting your ex by the second verse.
Megan-Lily
Megan-Lily is a 17 year old original and precociously talented young artist, whose celestial and ethereal singer - songwriter style, simply enchants the audience.Her genre is mainly indie folk and indie pop.
Elvis Oddball
Liverpool-born Elvis Oddball is known as Michael Murray to his mum. Inspired by folk-tinged sounds from the British Isles and Americana, Elvis writes and performs his own songs about both real and made up stuff…..
Anthony Hart
A Gravesend dwelling poet, known for his distinctively dark and comedically dark layered poetry. Anthony has been performing and writing poetry again for a couple of years after a change in Medic*tion, which brought back his creative side.
Anthony has been performing at events around Kent and a little London, alongside other poetic friends, which has inspired him to run his own monthly Gravesend poetry night ( Poetic Flaws/Floors ) Instagram, threads, Facebook and accompanying YouTube channel.
