Our next Acoustic Music Night is coming up on Wednesday 12th November, hosted as always by The String Section: Mike Thompson (guitar), Denise Neapolitan (fiddle), Philip Rundall (mandolin), and Dave Olney (double bass). Their set blends fiddle tunes and songs with the easy charm of Americana, the drive of Bluegrass, and the soul of Country.
We’re thrilled to welcome back two outstanding guest acts.
First up: Dave King, a guitarist with serious chops, joined by John Morey on bass guitar.
Dave’s musical stories are legendary—like the time he and John Williams were approached outside The Marquee Club by a mime artist and songwriter named David Bowie.
They turned him down. “You won’t have heard of me,” Bowie said. He was right.
Also returning: Kelvin Davies and Gary Jones, bringing their signature country blues sound—Kelvin’s intricate fingerstyle guitar paired with Gary’s soulful harmonica. They’ve played everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to major folk festivals, and we’re delighted to have them back.
Entry is free, but please bring cash for the musicians’ jar. The bar’s open, the crowd’s warm, and the music’s always magic. Doors at 7.00, music from 8 to 10. Come early, stay late!
