, Founder, KIMS-Ushalakshmi Center for Breast Diseases
Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti OBE is an eminent breast cancer surgeon and visionary who has significantly transformed breast healthcare in India. He pursued his education in India and the UK, obtaining his FRCS from all four Surgical Royal Colleges of the British Isles. As the Founder-Director of the KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases and the Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation, Dr. Raghu Ram has pioneered South Asia’s first comprehensive breast health center and implemented extensive breast cancer screening programs. His outstanding contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, Dr. B.C. Roy National Award, and the prestigious Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) from Queen Elizabeth II, recognizing his efforts to improve breast cancer care and strengthen UK-India relations.

Parmjit is multi-disciplinary academic with a wide range of engineering specialisms and interests including autonomous systems, mechatronics, robotics and IoT. Parmjit has a keen interest in the application space technologies for rural connectivity and communications. Parmjit’s current area of research is in the development of driverless or autonomous vehicles and machines in the UK for both on and off-highway. Parmjit is a key contributor and advisor on a number of Innovate UK funded projects to accelerate adoption of autonomous systems in driverless cars, people/freight carrying road and air pods (UAVs), agricultural robotic machinery and ethics of AI. Parmjit provides overarching leadership on a range of high profile and world leading projects including Hands Free Hectare/Farm, Yellow Gold, Tuberscan, Airpod, Traffic & Tillage, to name just a few.

Janaka Pushpanathan currently leads British Council’s work in South India, and she has over 20 years of experience in the Arts, Education and Enterprise sectors. Prior to this, she has co-founded education, learning and development, and Ed tech start-ups, which have won the Red Herring Top 100 and the NASSCOM Top 50 awards in the innovation category. Janaka has been a part of British Council’s think tank on Intercultural Dialogue and was also the Regional Head of the United States India Education Foundation (USIEF) for South India.
