This is a two-day (16hr) course is delivered by FATE, who are accredited first aid trainers with first-hand experience of the outdoors.Meeting the requirements of various governing bodies, (see below) this course’s content is matched with the IOL Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid.

This accredited course is ideal for individuals working in outdoor situations where a number of hazards may be present, or where definitive care/assistance may be up to a few hours away including:
* Walking Group Leaders
* Mountain leaders
* D of E supervisors/ assessors
* Bushcraft instructors
* Forest school teachers
* Scout leaders requiring a ‘full’ first aid certificate for their permit scheme.
This fully practical and hands on course will cover an extensive range of topics (examples below), and will utilise the landscape and natural features of the woodland, along with their experianced staff to create and simulate real life, dynamic, living and evolving scenarios. Experience treating realistic, simulated wounds in a safe setting, giving you the confidence to provide the help required should you ever need to. After successfully completing the learning programme, which includes an assessment component, learners will receive their certificates, valid for three years. At the end of the three-year period, the certificate must be renewed by attending a further course.

We have 2 types of ticket available for this course. We have "First Aid Only" tickets where you'll be registered for the course only, and will be required to find accommodation close by to the event and cater for yourself. If this is the ticket option that suits you best then please remember to be punctual to the start of each day. There is a lot of content to cover, and if you're late, then we might not be able to wait for you.
We also have a "First Aid + Camping and Catering" ticket where we will provide Camping on Friday and Saturday night shall be provided. If you have a tent/hammock that you can bring to use, then you're welcome to do so. We do have kit to offer, but this is limited so please contact us as soon as possible after booking if you need to borrow anything. A full kit list will be sent out with your booking conformation. This ticket is fully catered (with the exception of Friday evening), meaning that meals will be provided for you. We will provide Saturday breakfast and evening meal with a light lunch around midday. We will also provide Sunday breakfast and a light lunch before your departure.
Refreshments such as tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for all throughout the weekend. If you want to bring any snacks of your own, then please do. Please be prepared to feed yourself Friday evening. We will have basic cooking equipment for you to borrow, or you can cook over our open fire. Alternatively, there is a really nice local pub only a couple of minutes walk away.
