What occurred outside of Fort Ligonier on November 12, 1758? Attendees will experience the story of George Washington's Friendly Fire Incident by participating in immersive vignettes throughout the Fort Ligonier site with historic interpreters. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about Washington's dramatic story and the last time he was under fire before the Revolution!The Friendly Fire Incident has been shrouded in mystery for over 250 years.
The primary sources and accounts give us different perspectives of what occurred on November 12th, 1758. Each vignette will give you a different view of what happened. Play the history detective and come to your own conclusion of what happened to George Washington.
This event helps us remember those who did not return to the Fort on November 12th and how this consequential event changed world history.
Please dress for weather conditions. The program requires walking up a moderately steep incline.
