Written/Directed by Robert Redfern and Funded by the City of Melbourne, Accident is a short film inspired from the themes of the tragic and fatal accident of Burak Dogan, an Uber delivery rider who was hit by a truck in 2020. In particular, Accident is a commentary about the value of one's life in the backdrop of racism, classism and the accountability of culpability. The contrast of altruism from some and the selfish needs of others are shown through the different worlds of different people, with different values, raising the ultimate question: Which group do you fit into?
