Our relationship with Harris Federation

AMR Consult has been part of the Technical Advisory Services Panel for Harris Federation since 2019. We have been supporting the Trust from the definition of the briefs till works completion on several schools of their estate, undertaking site surveys including measures surveys, advising on procurement strategy, managing the procurement of main contractors, and overseeing the delivery of the works through contract administration. A good communication with the school’s facilities management teams and a clear definition of each work package within the contracts have been key to the successful delivery of the works.

Our relationship with Amadeus Primary Academies Trust

AMR Consult has supported Amadeus Primary Academies Trust for the previous two CIF application rounds and has successfully secured critical capital funds across the Trust’s estate.

A flat roof project at Hillsgrove Primary School is a good example of one of the projects delivered in summer 2020. Bid preparation commenced in mid-2019 and included initial surveys from our chartered building surveyors to identify weaknesses in the school’s estate. The project was then defined, and the specification was tendered following the Trust’s procurement policies. In parallel, bespoke submission documents were produced capturing the condition of the roof both internally and externally and the application was successfully submitted in December 2019.

The impact of Covid-19 meant for a late CIF announcement date in 2020. As a result, when the application received a positive result this left only a month to mobilise the preferred contractor to utilise the summer holiday period. Following the government's Covid-19 restrictions, this made for a challenging period however the use of online meetings allowed the contractor to commence works on the first day of the holidays.

Good communication with the contractor lead to a successful delivery of the works and 1,600sq.m. of Garland product was successfully applied ahead of schedule in just 5 weeks. This left plenty of time to clear the site in readiness of the start of term.
