About this Event
Did you know that there are 16 million people in the UK with accessibility requirements? That's 1 in every 4 of your visitors or guests. Did you also know that this market spends an estimated £14.6 billion on tourism every year and that, without realising it, your business could be missing out?
Join us for this interactive, practical programme to learn how you can not only improve your accessibility, but also your overall business, your customer service, your footfall and your bottom line. What's more, despite the common misconception that accessibility improvements are expensive, many won't cost you a penny! Want to know how to sign 'Welcome' in Makaton sign language? Or understand how to provide a warm welcome to a Deaf person? How about understanding why a 'quiet space' is important for autistic visitors, why replacing your doormat can help someone with dementia or why moving the position of a waste bin can help a wheelchair user? Then this programme is for you!
This Accessibility Champion programme is a condensed one-day workshop delivered -based Jane Cooper of Access & Inclusion UK. It is full of practical advice, 'top tips' and 'quick wins' to help you champion business improvement through better accessibility. By the end of the programme delegates will be able to:
• Understand the barriers faced by disabled people and how to help overcome them
• Carry out a simple accessibility audit of their site
• Produce a Sensory Story for their venue
• Design an effective Touch Tour
• Provide key accessibility information on their website
• Market the accessibility of their venue locally and nationally
• Have increased their confidence in creating a warm welcome for all!
Sign up today to find out how you and your business can succeed in making everybody welcome!
