GOODBYE SPACEBEAR
2023 was a big year for Goodbye Spacebear with highlights including scoring for the international theatre production ‘The Hunt’, performing the score live at the Brisbane Powerhouse in late October, playing 30 local gigs, and achieving runners up in both the Sound Garden and Greaser Bar 2023 Battle of the Bands. They hope to make 2024 even more special. GBSB’s ethereal and raw sound is reminiscent of acts such as Sigur ros, Radiohead, Tool, M83, and Hans Zimmer. At the core of this Brisbane band’s otherworldly sound is the reverberated, modulated, and filtered textures produced by synthesizers and guitars in contrast with a dynamic rhythm section, topped off with dual vocals. Although GBSB’s live shows are most memorable for the atmosphere they create with their originals and highly regarded Hans Zimmer covers, GBSB are no strangers to slick guitar riffs, catchy choruses, timing changes, and the catchy melodies that make their music and live shows appealing to audiences of varying ages and musical tastes.
