12:00am – Overview of the Accelerating Commercialisation (AC) including goals of the programme, benefits, eligibility, and examples of past grantees.

12:20am – Q&A in relation to Accelerating Commercialisation

12:30am – If your product, process, or service is significantly different to ‘state-of-art’ you may be eligible for AC. You also might need to protect it. Nikki Macor Heath will discuss how to make the most out of your innovation by protecting it using patents and other intellectual property rights, as well as outlining key issues in commercialising IP through licensing or assignment.

12:50am – Q&A with lawyer Nikki Macor Heath

Leveraging formal qualifications in Industrial Design and technical skills acquired in automotive trades, Grant has founded and grown companies commercialising both physical products and software in domestic and international markets, culminating in a career leading software companies spanning more than 20 years. Grant maintains a passion for supporting founders of innovative companies across diverse sectors, with a natural affinity for design, engineering, advanced manufacturing, and software focussed companies.


Nikki Macor Heath

Nikki Macor Heath is an experienced intellectual property and technology lawyer who has supported both large and small businesses to protect, manage and commercialise their IP. She has deep understanding of innovation and technology transfer, having spent several years working on commercialisation of research as in-house counsel at a major Australian university. Nikki is also well versed in working with grants and in documenting research and development collaborations. She also has extensive expertise advising on IT transactions, from hardware and software to development services and as-a-service offerings, as well as data and privacy issues.
