About this Event
Join us on a frontcountry multipitch and mountaineering adventure in the Canadian Rockies led by ACMG guides.
On this adventure, our basecamp will begin at Mosquito Creek (July 28 - 30) and then move to ACC Clubhouse (July 31 - August 3).
Objectives will be based on the group skill level and preference.
Guided mountaineering objectives considered:
- Lake Louise Group - Various objectives will be considered based on conditions and group capability.
- Athabasca/Andromeda - One of the most accessible and enjoyable big peaks in the Canadian Rockies.
Guided multipitch objectives considered:
- Eisenhower Tower/Brewer Buttress - Castle Mountain's majestic tower starting with the ascent to the Goat Plateau before crossing the Dragon's Back and tackling the tower itself. This adventure requires endurance and skill, providing an epic and varied climbing experience with incredible panoramas of the surrounding Rockies.
- Ha Ling (via the NE Face) - Rising above Canmore, this peak offers a fantastic multipitch climb, with a relatively short approach. Expect stunning views and exhilarating pitches as we scale to the summit.
- Yamnuska - The crown jewel of the Canadian Rockies climbing
Unguided objectives considered:
- Bow But/TheOnion, Columbia Icefield walk, Mount Wilcox, Mother's Day Buttress, Tunnel Mountain (Dancing Sasquatch, Le Souier), Sunshine, Wasootch, Whymper.
Participants will be paired based on similar skill and ability and have two days of guided objectives. The other days will either be unguided objectives
Full trip details and gear list will be sent in advance to all registrants.
The per-person cost is $900 for guide fees + $340 for hut fees. All other costs are the responsibility of the participant, including travel, meals, and equipment rentals.
A $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot. Space is limited, so spots will be filled on a first-come/first-serve basis.
Important Notes:
- Trip objectives are subject to weather and other safety-related conditions.
- To participate in this trip you must be a member of the Manitoba Section of the Alpine Club of Canada.
- All participants are required to review and sign the club’s waiver to participate in this event. Download and read through the waiver
- There is no need to print or sign the waiver ahead of the event. The trip leader will be reviewing it with you and collecting your signature prior to the start of the event.
