Make your spring traverse dreams come true this spring with a Canadian Classic: the Complete Wapta Traverse from Petyo Lake to Wapta Lake. Five days four nights with one night at each of the WaptaHuts.The trip is intended for intermediate level ski tourers who want to experience the premier spring ski traverse in the comfort of huts.
Is it the trip for you?
- Participants must have previous ski touring experience, have capable ski skills with a heavy pack and be capable of ski touring five days in a row.
- Participants should have good companion rescue skills and have at least had some exposure to glacier travel and crevasse rescue techniques.
- Participants will be required to supply all of their own personal ski touring equipment including personal glacier rescue equipment and personal sleeping bag. Trip leaders will supply rescue tarp, communication devices etc.
- Participants will need to carry and provide their own breakfast and lunch food. They will also need to carry and prepare one meal for everyone one night of the trip.
Participant Selections will be made January 1, 2025
- Selected participants will be required to attend a half day glacier refresher and full day ski tour (date and location to be decided) prior to the traverse to ensure everyone selected is suitably assessed for the trip.
- 3 participants will be selected by random draw to accompany 2 ACC CMS approved trip leaders.
