ACAP Hickory / Foothills is hosting a free educational program titled "ACAP Hickory/Foothills & Catawba Valley Community College: Caregiving Connections Conference" on Thursday, November 6th at 8:00am.The program will be held at the Catawba Valley Community College West-Wing Commons, 2550 US Hwy 70 SE Hickory, NC 28602.
In cooperation with Catawba Valley Community College’s, Human Services Departments, ACAP Hickory/Foothills will present our annual conference, Caregiving Connections.
A full day of dynamic speakers and sponsors with topics ranging from the physical and emotional aspects of caregiving to professional topics in caregiving for a wide range those who receive care.
The morning session, provided by ACAP Hickory/Foothills, will include presentations by Dr. Timothy Aumen, Wake Forest University, MindfulWake, (ret.) and Diana Christensen, nationally known Tai Chi and Qigong instructor and specialist.
There will be an hour-long break for lunch-on-your-own from Food Trucks present on the CVCC campus.
The afternoon session, provided by the Human Services Departments of Catawba Valley Community College, will include speakers from CVCC professors and students, as well as local professionals related to the topics presented. This part of the conference has been an annual event at CVCC with continuing education credits offered. However, since there will be no fee required to attend the CE credits will not be offered this year.
