The Mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition
The Sunset Chapter meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month in Sarasota. Our meeting is a hybrid event; you may choose to attend in person or virtually via the Zoom meeting option. Visitors are always welcome and we encourage our members to invite guests to attend as well.
This month, we will meet at the Denny's on Bee Ridge Rd in Sarasota.
Onboarding for Relationships, Strengthening Connections to Build Trust and Collaboration
Kristen Lessig-Schenerlein, is on a mission to help leaders build thriving, future-ready workplaces. She is the Founder of Koi Coaching and Consulting, where she designs transformative experiences that embed well-being into organizational strategy—fueling engagement, productivity, and long-term growth.
A Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, a Mental Fitness Trainer, and a member of the Harvard Institute of Coaching, Kristen blends peak performance science, positive psychology, and mindful leadership into practical strategies that stick. She holds a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and has nearly two decades of leadership experience across nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors—including as the founder and Executive Director of a leading adaptive sports nonprofit.
She also partners with BetterUp, the world’s leading virtual coaching platform, to support executives and leaders across the globe. Her coaching portfolio includes work with global companies such as Amazon, American Express, CrowdStrike, and Roche Pharmaceuticals, national nonprofits like The Recycling Partnership and the U.S. Plastics Pact, and local visionary entrepreneurs and CEOs redefining their industries.
Here at home, Kristen is a co-founder of CORE Leadership, a flagship program developing the next generation of transformational leaders in Sarasota. An alumna of both Leadership Sarasota and Leadership Manatee, she is deeply committed to strengthening her local community through initiatives that foster resilience, innovation, and positive leadership. She also contributes thought leadership as a writer for the Business Observer Newspaper.
Currently pursuing her doctorate in Education and Community Leadership at the University of Miami, Kristen balances her academic and professional pursuits with family life in Longboat Key, where she and her husband are raising four children in a blended family—a true testament to the power of teamwork at home.
