About this Event
Bruce Etter Says...
The year is 2042. The president of the United States has annexed both Canada and Mexico. NO worries, he appointed their respective presidents as governors of those territories. The newly formed country, O.N.A.N., the Organization of North American Nations, is targeted by a terrorist organization from Quebec called “The Wheelchair Assassins.”
They seek revenge by disseminating a deadly movie, yes, a deadly movie. When you begin watching “Infinite Jest,” you cannot and WILL NOT stop because the film is so addictive. You will eventually starve and die in your own filth.
In the midst of this wacky setting, there are oversized feral hamsters, humans without skulls and giant cyclops babies roaming around.
And time is no longer marked by numbers (AD 2025). I'll leave you in suspense on that one.
Join me at the Row House, February 14, for a lively discussion about consumerism, American culture and David Foster Wallace’s novel Infinite Jest.
