Abstract It's All in Your Head (No, Really, It Is): Abstract Art Workshop

Join Ali Kilby during the run of 'Liquid Ontologies' the slippery group show from Hastings Art School for a practical abstract workshop.

This two-hour workshop on abstract painting is for anyone who wants to have a go at tapping into your own thoughts and freely produce some abstract art, without overthinking the process.

We will be using mixed media (collage, pencils, crayons, pastels and acrylic paint) to layer shapes and tonal values in a free yet guided process. The aim is not to become too self-critical, to work through some basic techniques and to produce a dynamic piece of work through an enjoyable and thought-provoking process. The emphasis is on building a foundation for abstract exploration, in a self-paced, safe space.

All materials are supplied, although participants are welcome to bring along any favourites they like to work with.
