“What is truth?” Pontius Pilate asked this question of Jesus two thousand years ago, and we are still grappling with its implications today. Is there such a thing as “absolute truth”? Are multiple—and often contradictory—“truths” functioning at the same time? Is one person’s truth more valid—or better—than another’s? What are we to do when “truths” collide? Can we depend on Christianity’s revealed truths alongside the claims of science, other religions, and a pluralistic society? In this one-week study, Father Patrick will guide us as we wrestle with these pressing questions. Together, we will explore what it means to claim something as true, how to navigate conflicting perspectives, and how our deepest convictions shape the way we live. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of these complex issues and practical insight for thinking, speaking, and acting faithfully in a world of competing truths.
