- Introduction to Basics: You’ll learn foundational steps like the basic salsa step, side step, and back step, along with simple turns. The focus is on getting comfortable with timing, rhythm, and the Cuban salsa beat (usually danced to an 8-count rhythm)
- Partner Work Fundamentals: Classes will teach you how to lead or follow, emphasizing connection and communication between partners. Basic partner moves, like the "Dile Que No", Is introduced early on
- Understanding Cuban Style: You’ll get a sense of the unique circular flow of Cuban salsa, along with its fun, playful energy. The goal is to help you feel relaxed and confident on the dance floor
- Group Setting and Social Dancing: Many courses include group rotations where you’ll change partners, helping you build confidence dancing with different people. This also prepares you for Rueda de Casino, a fun group dance style often introduced in later levels
