A 2-day interactive workshop valuable to anyone. Participants will gain an understanding of Aboriginal Mental Health and learn strategies for how to help someone who may be experiencing a Mental Health crisis.
About this Event
This two-day (14-hour) course provides attendees with the knowledge and skills associated with understanding the landscape of Mental Health within the Aboriginal community. Participants will learn practical strategies on how to assist Aboriginal people who may be experiencing a Mental Health problem or crisis so that you can provide the best support possible.
The power of mind is through awareness and this workshop leverages first-hand life experiences of the facilitators to provide participants with the greatest insight and comprehension to these issues as possible. Attendees are encouraged to engage in discussions in order for themselves and others to get the most out of the sessions.
The workshop will cover various topics including:
Mental Health problems in the community
Anxiety
Drug and Alcohol
Depression
Suicide and Non-Suicidal Self Injury
Psychosis
Workbooks, Manual, are all provided. An accredited certificate upon completion of the course.
The interactive workshop is Co-Facilitated by Joe Collard and Natasha Collard. Both are well connected and respected within their community and across Australia.
