Indoor sessions available:
Obstacle/desensitisation
Groundwork/trick training
Young horse sessions
Private sessions
Obstacle/desensitisation session information:
Duration - 50 minutes
Group size - up to 4 per group
Ridden or in-hand
Suitable for - horses 4 year old + (For younger horses please book on the 'young horse sessions')
Aim - to confidently tackle obstacles and 'spooky scenarios' by applying a gentle horsemanship approach to learn to calmly and quietly work your horse through obstacles.
Includes: Exercises similar seen in Trec, Working Equitation, Agility, Trail, etc. Obstacles could include simple bridges, gates, pedestal, water, curtains, sensory noodle path, ball pit, alleys, flags, see saw, etc. Roughly around 8-10 obstacles/various exercises per session. For group fairness - any horses with known major/specific problem areas or horses under 4yo wanting a taught session - please book onto a private session to focus on these individually.
Young horse session information:
Duration - 30 minutes
Group size - 2
In-hand only
Suitable for - Horses 4yo and under only (for older horses, please book on the group obstacle sessions)
Aim - For young horses to have a simple quiet outing in a small group of horse's similar. 'You do you' basically - come as you are and bring your groundwork from home out to try in a new place.
Includes: Not a taught lesson but just a hired 'playground' to gradually and safely let them explore with no pressure and you just 'pick and choose' what you feel they capable of doing. Welcome to do as much or as little as you need - whether that be just groundwork in a new environment or making use of the obstacles set out. No waiting around like in a formal lesson, you can stay for the full 40 minutes or finish before that whenever you want to which is much more productive mentally for younger horses. Suitable for people confident with their groundwork and just wanting to have a low pressure environment to bring their youngsters elsewhere.
Groundwork/Trick training sessions information:
Duration -50 minutes
Group size - up to 4
In-hand only
Suitable for - Any age providing they have good, established groundwork/in hand manners - not suitable for horses that are bargy/reactive/spooky etc - please book a private session instead for any needing focused groundwork time.
Aim - Trick training is a brilliant way of having fun with your horse, as well as working on your relationship, manners and overall physical flexibility of the horse.
Includes: The session will focus on starting 2-3 new movements and explaining them so you can go home with new ideas to continue. Horses must have good manners on the ground and be good to handle for these sessions. For younger horses or ones needing help with general groundwork - please book onto a private session. Tricks are dependant on horse but could be pedestal/starting the balance board, smile, twirl, mounting block training, picking objects up, yoga movements needed to start bowing (mountain goat, park out), magnet (backing from behind), crunches etc.
Private sessions
45 minute private session to work on a specific area you wish to focus on
This could be obstacles, groundwork/trick training, balance boards or 'helpful horse' training such as learning the foundations to open gates safely or parking up the mounting block or just to focus on an unconfident area. Please specify when booking what your aim is.
Times are sorted nearer the date but as a rough guide - obstacle sessions are normally in the morning till lunchtime, young horse sessions are over lunchtime/early afternoon, trick training sessions are normally in the afternoon and private sessions are normally at the end of the day or very start of the day. Sessions will start from 10am till 3pm latest.
