Please join us Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 P.M. at the Marlborough Public Library on 35 West Main Street where the character of President John Adams will be portrayed by George Baker. Dressed in character, he will take you take you back in time, talking about his wife Abigail and his views of history and society in a humorous and inspiring performance.Abigail Adams was one of the strongest and amazing first ladies. She was way ahead of her time. This is an opportunity to learn about the struggles and victories of Abigail Adams as she created a path for the women that followed. This presentation will help you to understand early American women and how they helped to lay the foundation of our great country. March is Women’s History Month. Everyone is invited to this free event.
As the country approaches its 250th anniversary, this is a good way to begin learning more about the traditions of our founding fathers, their values and history.
George Baker has portrayed the character of President John Adams in a one-man show throughout the country at national conventions and venues like Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Kansas, the George W. Bush Presidential Library, Texas and many more. A graduate of Columbia College (’69) and Columbia Law School (’73), George practices law in Connecticut.
