About this Event
THE ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH INVESTIGATORS LIMITED
UK GDPR GOOD PRACTICE
FOR INVESTIGATIVE & LITIGATION SUPPORT SERVICES
The ABI is hosting this seminar, open to all professional investigators, to focus on the key areas practitioners need to address in their day to day data processing activities, be it a routine trace enquiry to a more complex and involved fraud investigation or any of the numerous tasks in support of legal contentious business (litigation) such as process serving or taking witness statements, or enquiries relating to road traffic accidents, personal injury, financial status assessments, matrimonial etc.
After more than 3 years since GDPR was introduced with the Data Protection Act 2018 and working with the sector in exploring how best to meet the requirements, through the regular one-day dedicated workshops, the ABI has identified the key areas many practitioners find confusing or are simply under a misguided belief they have little, if any responsibility to meet the data processing obligations.
Apart from an innovative research tool and of course the networking opportunities, the seminar will include presentations on three key areas of significant value to every professional, namely:
Controller or processor
The data protection impact assessment
The legitimate interest 3-part test
