Wells Branch Wild Conservancy holds monthly meetings open to the community of Wells Branch to learn about certification and their natural environment. A non-profit was formed to protect and grow habitat for plants and animals in the community. The approach is based on the work of Doug Tallamy who advocates for more plant and animal friendly habitat on private lands. One goal is to become a certified Community Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. A recent status is having 117 certified backyard habitats and need a total of 200 to receive community certification.
