About this Event
Designed by renowned architects Sir Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham of CRAB Studios in London, the Abedian School of Architecture at Bond University is an architectural landmark on the Gold Coast. Officially opened in February 2014, this award-winning building stands out for its bold, open-plan design that fosters a unique studio-based learning environment— the only one of its kind in Australia.
The Abedian School of Architecture serves as more than just an academic facility; it acts as an interactive teaching tool. Its spacious, light-filled interiors are designed to inspire creativity and innovation in the next generation of architects. Students are encouraged to engage with their environment, pushing the boundaries of architectural thought and practice.
Recognized for its architectural excellence, the building was honored with a State Award in the Public Building category at the 2014 Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) Queensland Awards. Its forward-thinking design integrates functionality with aesthetic innovation, providing a dynamic space where students and faculty can collaborate, experiment, and innovate.
Enjoy a Guided Tour with Professor Paul Loh. The tour will extend to cover the Bond Campus as the larger context, including the only building by Pritzker Prize Laureate Arata Isozaki in Australia.
