About this Event
Introductory course to DNA manipulation in the classroom for teachers and technicians new to the ABE (Amgen Biotech Experience) programme.
Schools taking part in the ABE programme can borrow research-grade lab equipment so that students can explore methods that scientists use to create biotechnology medicines, by carrying out hands-on molecular biology activities. The kit and activities are suitable for key stage 4 and post-16 specifications including GCSE, A level, T level and BTec
A teacher and a technician from the same school should attend the training together, so that both gain familiarity with the kit and student activities.
This is a two day, face to face course. Day 1(23rd June) is for teachers and technicians. Day 2 (24th June) is for technicians only. The training takes place 09:30 to 15:30 on both days.
When booking for the course, if you are a technician, please also book a place for day 2.
