On July 4, 2026, our community will be hosting Abby Day, a special event recognizing Abby Hustler, the first woman from Prince Edward Island to play in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). Abby grew up in Miminegash, and her achievements have become a tremendous source of pride and inspiration for our community and for young athletes across PEI.Abby Day is designed to celebrate her accomplishments while encouraging youth—especially young girls—to pursue their goals in sport and in life. The event will include community recognition activities, youth-focused programming, photo opportunities, and the unveiling of a permanent sign at the entrance to Miminegash honouring Abby’s achievements.
