The much-loved Abbey Farm Flower Festival returns this August Bank Holiday Weekend, running from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August 2025. Set within the stunning ruins and Tithe Barn of historic Abbey Farm in Abbotsbury, this year’s festival promises a joyful celebration of flowers, creativity, live music and community.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the community back to Abbey Farm for a bigger, more festive Flower Festival in 2025,” said the events team. “With a programme packed full of colour, inspiration, market stalls, food and live music, it’s the perfect weekend for families, gardeners, shoppers, artists and nature lovers alike.”
Now firmly established as a seasonal highlight in the Dorset calendar, the festival offers something for everyone—from garden lovers and artists to families looking for a different day out.
⭐️ What to Expect ⭐️
🎶 Live Music & Entertainment 🎤
Visitors can enjoy a lively weekend of music, with performances from the glamorous vintage quartet The Decadettes, the captivating Piano Bike Girl and the local Portesham Ukulele Band. Their performances will add a festive soundtrack to the already colourful surroundings.
🛍️ Artisan Stalls & Local Market 🍎
Over 40 artisan stalls, both inside the historic Tithe Barn and outdoors in the scenic grounds, will showcase flowers, garden accessories, art, handmade crafts, local produce and food. There are still a few spaces left for traders wishing to be part of this vibrant showcase.
🎨 Workshops, Talks & Creative Experiences 🌺
A full programme of creative workshops, expert talks, and themed nature walks will be available across the weekend. Topics range from floral design to nature journaling, and returning favourites like David Pearce from Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and Alex Boon will be joined by new guest speakers and facilitators. The programme can be found on www.abbeyfarmabbotsbury.co.uk.
💐 Pick‑Your‑Own Flower Garden 💐
Festival-goers can wander through the Abbey Farm Flowers’ flower garden and pick their own seasonal bouquet, take part in floral demos, and gather ideas for their own gardens. This hands-on experience remains a festival favourite.
👗 Local Independent Shops 🍰
In between the festivities, guests can relax and refuel at Cherries Café, which will be offering a special Flower Festival menu featuring delicious homemade dishes infused with locally grown edible flowers and herbs, alongside a tempting selection of homemade cakes and drinks available all weekend.
