Oyez! Oyez! An addition is being made to the Abbasid garb series! All are invited to a block printing extravaganza with Baroness Víga-Astriðr gylðir (Rainey Kilgore). The block printing evening is held ahead of the sirwal (pant) class to allow for decoration of fabric before the patterning and construction session on November 16th.Please bring:
· Prewashed, dried, and ironed natural fiber (wool, linen, rayon or silk) fabric to print,
· Dye (speedball screen printing/block printing ink) if you would like specific colors,
· Used beach towels (that you are willing to catch excess dye),
· Straight edges, and
· chalk pens, tailors’ chalk or other preferred marking tools.
Linen scraps and a limited selection of dye colors will be provided for use. Stamps based on period motifs will be available. If you have preferred stamp patterns, please feel free to bring them.
Food and non-water beverages are restricted in the community room so please plan accordingly.
