Join a museum educator to learn about one of California's incredible shellfish: The Abalone. Abalone has a storied environmental, Native, archaeological, and colonial history on our coast. Come delve into the relationship between the abalone and the Chumash, its uses and significance, while simultaneously considering the journey this animal has taken and where it stands today.


This is an indoor gallery tour. We will not be eating abalone at this event.

All ages are welcome. The galleries are wheelchair accessible.
