In honor of Veterans Day week, The American Association of University Women-Dearborn's Meeting/Program on Wednesday, November 12,2025 will be "Women in the Military." It will be held at the McFadden -Ross House/Dearborn Historical Museum at 6:30 PM. The public is welcome to join usfor this program. All attending may bring non-[erishable food items that will be distributed to local food banks for Thanksgiving meals.Our first guest speaker is Connie Mitchell, President of the local League of Women Voters. She will share her mother's story who served as a WAC in WWII. Her mother was with the 6888th Central Directory Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black fermale unit. They worked under discriminatory and harsh circumstances as they sorted and delivered 17 million backloogged pieces of American soldier mail.
Our second speaker is AAUW-D member, Bridget Gawthrop who served as a Major in Military Intelligence US Army. She will be speaking on the selective service. Pl
