AARP is offering Driver Safety classes at Kent County Public Library in January and February 2025. There is a 6-hour basic class for those who have not taken a defensive driving class in the past 3 years and a 4-hour refresher class for those who have taken a defensive driving class 3 years ago. Both courses offer auto insurance discounts, as well as a future 3-point credit, over 3 years for Delaware drivers.The course is open to folks of any age. Those who simply want to audit the class for no credit are welcome to do so.
Registration is through AARP (https://www.aarp.org/auto/driver-safety/locations/ scroll down), which charges a Course materials fee of $20 for AARP members, and $25 for non-AARP members (which AARP collects). Participants who take the course for credit, receive certificates to be sent to their insurance companies and the DMV. The instructor, Lois Lanzalotti, also takes registrations by phone at 908-415-9984.
The following classes are being offered at the Kent County Public Library location:
• Saturday, 1/11/2025, 1-5 p.m. (Refresher)
• Sunday, 1/12/2025, 1-5 p.m. (Refresher)
• Friday, 2/21/25, 10 am-4 p.m. (Basic)
• Sat., 2/22/25, 10 am-4 p.m. (Basic)
